I still found last episode's revelations a little hard to swallow, especially with it happening off screen. Clearly they're building up the bad news that hopefully won't reach much further (only one other person really I could think they could get rid of off screen that would upset me), but I must say it was fun to get back to an episode that felt like the lighthearted times in Season 1.
I did find interesting that new technology they unveiled that was able to absorb the magic of a Confessor. I think it's awfully convenient that it comes into play after Darken Rahl has died because I think he would have found that awfully useful. The story of Annabelle's father was so sad to hear, the relationship that the confessor accidentally shattered and the torture she must have left on his heart once he was released from her magic. The pain of losing her, losing what he had, knowing what he'd done and then the hatred of having it done. This episode brought a lot of interesting ideas to the forefront, but it clearly is only going to be a tease between Richard & Kahlan, and I don't know how long that can keep going and stay interesting.
- Flin. I have to admit i started to get attached to the rune boy, and I can't believe his journey with them is done already (I thought getting the rune to where it needed to be would take longer). Also only a three episode run, but it felt like a lot longer, especially when you consider that they met in the "Baneling" and he ran away in "Broken" hard to believe he became such an ingrained character for me. I hope that unlike other characters that have left Team Seeker, that Flin has a happily ever after, maybe even with Annabelle.
- Kahlan. The last confessor. It's a little sad, and with her stance on having relations with Richard, I fear there will not be another. When they teased their coupling at the end of the episode, I knew something would happen to prevent it. This time it was the romantic in her, along with her conscience knowing Richard had no say/will in the decision. It was a nice loophole to have, him already being confessed, and I don't deny I liked the idea of Kahlan having Richard's baby but them not able to do it again. Cara as the nanny. Hilarious.
